I decided it's time for an update! It's been to long! So many new things happening in the world of Stephanie! LOL.
Well I found out I'm FINALLY pregnant! Ahhh! I'm so stinkin excited. It's definitely been a long time coming. It would have been 2 years of trying in Nov. Geeze!

Well finally decided to stop trying and bam! We're pregnant! lol. Everyone kept telling us that we just needed to stop trying and it would happen but I didn't actually believe them...now I do! =] Also just a few weeks before we found out I totally gave it all to God. I think we were trying to hard to do it all on our own by seeing doctors, getting all these tests done but all we needed to do was have Faith and trust him.

We thank God everyday for this little miracle growing inside me. He or she is such a blessing to us and we are so much more grateful to have gone through all this heartache of wanting a baby so bad and letting go of it all and now finally being pregnant. It's such an amazing gift. :)
This baby is going to be sooo loved!! :D

Of course I'm as nervous as heck though because I'm only 7 weeks and there is still the possibility of a miscarriage and that scares me to death but I try not to think about it and again I just need to have Faith!

I'm going to try and keep up my blogs on how the pregnancy is going and things that are happening. I have my first doctors appt. tomorrow which is just an orientation with the nurse to go over everything that will be happening throughout the pregnancy. I'm going to see if they'll at least let me hear the heartbeat while I'm there! And then on Aug. 12th I have my first ultrasound. Eeeek! I'm SOO excited for that, it feels like time is creeeeeeping by.
Anyway...here are a couple pictures! =]

New things going on...

We've found out some new things in the last few weeks. Jeremy saw the urologist about 2 or 3 weeks ago and found out he has Varicocele. It's a little hard to explain so here is a good description.

A varicocele is an abnormal enlargement of the veins in the scrotum. Veins are the blood vessels that are responsible for carrying blood from the body back toward the heart. (Arteries, on the other hand, are blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to other parts of the body). Veins contain valves that keep blood flowing in the proper direction. But, when these valves fail, blood is allowed to flow backward and pool in the veins, which causes the veins to stretch and swell. When this occurs in the legs, it produces varicose veins. When it occurs in the scrotum, it produces a varicocele.

The urologist wants to do surgery on him to fix it because he said that could be the cause of our infertility. But we've been reading a lot of things online from people that said their husbands have had it done and it didn't help at all and some people said it's caused them more problems. Only a few have said it's actually helped them get pregnant.

So, we're really debating if it's best for him to get it done. We've been taking FertilAid since Jan. and I was reading an article that said FertilAid is great for men who have Varicocele. That it can increase your chances of conceiving even without getting the surgery. I think we'll probably just try the fertilaid for the next few months and if we don't get pregnant then we'll probably go ahead an do the surgery.

Now for me! I went and got my HSG test done last Monday. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I'm kind of glad I read all the horror stories online before I got it done because then it made it not seem so bad. LOL
Anyway, the doctor said everything looks great and clear but they will send the X-rays to my doctor so he can further look at it. So, yay! That's a good thing.
All my blood work looked great, my HSG test was clear..everything looks good so far on my side! :)

On Monday I'll be calling my doctor and then he'll be referring us to OB and we'll go from there! :) Woo hoo! I'm so glad things are finally moving along. :)

Dr. appt update (rant)

So I said I would update after my appt.
Well I went to the hospital got my blood test done at 12 then went to Radiology and checked in with them. Sat in the waiting room for about 45 minutes and then went back up to the counter to let them know I'm still waiting.

There was a different lady then the one I checked in with and this lady said oh your appt is for Feb. 28...uhhh no!! So, she went and got one of the nurses and the nurse said she's right...your appt is for Feb. 28th. I'm like how is that possible if I'm supposed to get this test done within a certain time frame of my cycle.
Then the nurse told me she might be able to get me in today but then she counted on the calender and said I'm on cycle day 16 and said that the test has to be done between 7-10 days of my cycle.

Erg!! I was so upset. I told her that the front desk lady that I talked to when I called gave me the appt for this day. I called on the day I started my period and she supposedly counted and this is the day she came up with. I even told the lady on the phone that that is to far in to my cycle but she told me not to worry that it's 7-10 days from the day I end my period...well obviously not.

So, the nurse went and talked to the doctor and the doctor had me come back to the room and told me that they definitely can't do it today because it's to far in to my cycle and it could cause problems. He apologized and said he needs to have a talk with the front desks ladies so they understand the procedures better (you think!?)
He told me the front desk ladies makes these appt all the time and he's not sure how she would have messed this up.

I've been trying to get an appt with them for the past 3 months!! It's getting really frustrating and I'm thinking of just going off base.
I told them I'll probably be starting my period around the 15th of next month so they just booked my appt now but if I start later then I'll just have to call and reschedule for a few days later.
I'm not sure if I should wait or just see if I can get referred off base.

Sorry for the really long rant! I'm just getting really frustrated with our hospital. I was really ready to get this last test done but now I have to wait another month. :(

End rant =]

Dr. Appt on Friday.

Warning! May be TMI!! :)

I have a doctors appointment on Friday that I'm really nervous about!! I have to get an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) test done. I looked up the definition so you guys can understand what it is. It's an X ray of the uterus and Fallopian tubes; usually done in diagnosing infertility (to see if there are any blockages).
I Googled it and a lot of people were saying it's painful. That's why I'm so nervous. Supposedly they put dye inside of me which flows through my fallopian tubes and if there are no blockages then it will spill out in to my stomach cavity. Gross right!? lol...A lot of people says it hurts and you bleed for a few days after. Eek!

So, I'm hoping everything is okay and there are no blockages. I also read a lot of stuff on Google that people who have had this done got pregnant within three months of the test because I guess it kind of cleans out your system in a way. So, hopefully that will be the case for me! :D

I'm just so glad I'm finally getting this test done, I've been waiting 3 months! And my doctor can't refer me to OB until they get all these tests done.
Can you believe we've been trying to get pregnant for 14 months now!? Oiy! This whole baby making stuff is a lot of work (well for me at least) lol
But I think all this will just make me really appreciate being pregnant and having a baby even more when I finally do.

I just want to thank all my friends and family for your continued prayers. You all are so amazing and I love you guys! Keep me in your prayers on Friday and I will try to update you this weekend on how it went. :)

On another note Jeremy and I are going to Hawaii the end of April/beginning of May. I'm so excited, it will be so nice to get away from all the stresses of work and life. We'll be able to just relax and enjoy each other. April just needs to hurry up and get here already!! :D

Have a great weekend everyone! =]

November already!?

Can't believe it's already November! This year has gone by so fast. The holidays are just around the corner and it'll be 2011 before we know it. Wow!

We move on base this Friday. So stinkin excited and ready. We've been looking around at paint colors cause that's the first thing we want to do. I despise white walls! It makes me feel like I'm in a hospital. Lol. I'm also ready to start decorating and making it home..I'm sure we'll be there for the next few years and that's just fine with me. :)
We're having a house warming party on Dec. 5th, that'll be fun to have all our friends over. I haven't seen them in awhile because I've been working so much.

So, in my last post I said my doctor was going to refer me to the gyn to figure out why I'm not getting pregnant but the gyn wants my doctor to do more tests on me first before I can see them.
So, I got some blood tests done last month. Not sure exactly what they were for but my doctor wanted me to get them and they all came back normal. I just need to get one more test done which is an HSG test but that has to wait until next month since it's to late to do it this month. :(
And then hopefully either they can figure out what's wrong or they can finally send me to the gyn.
I've been looking in to fertilAid supplements but I'm not sure if I should wait until all these tests are done to make sure it's not something more serious.
I just need to have more faith in God that he will take care of all this but some times it's really hard on me and it just feels like it's never going to happen. It'll happen though, I have faith in him.

I just wanted to share a song that I love! It's really been helping during this time and reminding me to have faith and believe that joy is coming!

Anyway, enough about all that. Jeremy and I are going down to So. Ca to see our family for Thanksgiving. I can't wait! I've really missed home and my family.
My sister Carla from Arizona and her hubby and kids will be there too. I can't wait to see them. I've missed them so much. My sis is one of my best friends, I can talk to her about anything. I've really missed living just down the street from her. But at least now I have my other sister Kristy just an hour away. :)

I'm still loving my job and thanking God everyday for giving it to me because it's really helped us. We we're able to get a second car, pay off bills and save money. I can't believe I'll have been working there 6 months in Dec...time sure flies!

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas and remember what that day is truly about. :)

Update on the Gillams...

Hey everyone! I feel like I'm always saying this but it's been awhile since I've written on here but it's true...I'm a slacker when it comes to blogging. Haha!

So, since the last time I wrote on here I've gotten a job at the Child Development Center on base. I'm loving it! I've always loved working with kids so this is just the right job for me. God really blessed us by giving me this job. We had been praying for a few months for me to get a job and then I got a call for this one! It makes great money and I'm good at it! :) Now we just need to move on base. It's hard only having one car and trying to work out ways to get us both to work. It will be much easier when we live on base which will hopefully be in November when our lease is up, that is if they have any houses available.

Well, we're still trying to get pregnant. It's been a rough 9 months or so but we know that God will give us a baby in his time. I saw my regular doctor the other day for a routine yearly 'check up' and she's referring me to the gyn..so they are supposed to be calling me in the next 2 weeks or so to set up an appt. just to make sure we are both healthy and have no problems getting pregnant. We have both been eating healthier and exercising often. I think a lot of it has to do with stress, I want to get pregnant so bad that I think it's getting to me. People tell me to just stop trying and it will happen but that's easier said then done. I'm just ready to see the gyn and get things moving!
One of my close friends just found out she's pregnant and she didn't find out until she was already 10 weeks! Holy moly! She hasn't had ANY symptoms other then being a little tired during the day. I hope I'm like that!! It was a little hard for me when I found out because they weren't trying for a baby and they weren't even planning on kids for a few more years. They both just turned 21 and they've only been married for a year. But I'm so happy for them! They will be great parents. I also went to two other friends baby showers in the last 2 weeks. They are both due I believe around Oct. 14th. I can't wait! One is having a girl and one is having a boy..so exciting! Babies everywhere!! LOL

In other news...My 22 birthday is in about 2 weeks! I'm excited because I have a 4 day weekend right before my birthday because of Labor day but then of course my b-day is on Tuesday so I have to work that day...boo! That's okay though, I'll have those 4 days to celebrate...just wish Jeremy had them off too. The only day he has off of those days is Saturday. :/ But I heard some of my friends might be planning something for me..so that's exciting!

A lot of exciting things happening in the next few months. My birthday, our 3 year wedding anniversary and 6 year "together" anniversary both in October and then we'll be moving on base in November and his 24th b-day is in Nov as well.

Hopefully I'll write again soon and not wait like 3 months. Haha!

To long...

I haven't written on here in awhile. Haven't really had much to blog about but I thought since Jeremy's at work and I'm bored at home I would write a little something. :)

So, yesterday I had an interview at the CDC (Child development center) on base and it went great! I feel really good about it. My last interview with the other CDC on base didn't go so well because it was a group interview of about 6 of us and I just felt very uncomfortable (hence the reason why I didn't get the job..lol). The interview yesterday was just one on one and the lady was very nice and made me feel comfortable so I have a good feeling about this one. I love working with kids, I would love to be a teacher some day so I'm really hoping I get this job.

I also just got a phone call from the dollar tree today which I applied at a few month ago and I have an interview for that on Thursday. It's nothing special but it'll bring in income so I wouldn't mind working there, although I would really like to work at the CDC which also pays significantly higher than the Dollar Tree.
We'll see in the next week or so what happens though! :)

On to another topic...
Jeremy and I have been trying for a baby now for about 6 months. It's getting pretty tough on me, especially seeing other women getting pregnant. I have over 20 friends on my Facebook that are either pregnant or just had a baby. I'm so happy for all of them but of course a little part of me is jealous. :/ As much as I try not to be. I pray about it all the time and I try to keep reminding myself that God will give us a baby in his time but of course it's still hard.
It's probably for the best right now anyway because I really need to get a job right now and finish paying off some of our debt and save a lot more before we have a baby and besides I'm still young, I'm only 21. We still have plenty of time. And I'd rather live comfortably, I really don't want to be living pay check to pay check with a little one.

I also tried to make a doctors appointment the other day to get checked out and make sure everything is okay but I left a message and they never called me back (that's military doctors for ya) so I'll give them a call again tomorrow.

Anyway, I'm excited to start working again! It's been about a year and a half. I'm tired of sitting around doing nothing and I want to help make money until we have a baby.

Okay, well that was my little ramble blog post for today. :) I really need to try and update this thing more! =]
I hope all my bloggy friends are doing well!

California Sunshine.

Today was a gorgeous day!! It was beautiful out and 70 degrees. I'm so ready for spring/summer. My favorite time of year. I can't wait to go to lay out by the pool and swim. And I'm also looking forward to trips to the beach. I think it's a little farther to the beach here then it was when we lived in So. CA. Oh well, at least we have a pool at our apartment complex.

I also really want to take a trip with Jeremy to Bodega Bay this summer. It's on the Sonoma Coast. Only about an hour and 45 mins from where we live.
bodega bay

Doesn't that look beautiful!?

Gah! There is so much I want to do this summer! I would also love to take a ride in a Hot Air Balloon over Napa Valley. But shh don't tell anyone, Jeremy's kind of afraid of heights. :( So, I don't know if he would go.
Photobucket

So gorgeous!!

I'm so ready for beautiful skies and sunshine. I'm done with all the rain and coldness.

Bring on the summer....

1 year!

One year ago today I had to say goodbye to Jeremy for 8 1/2 weeks. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do but it's so worth it now. Jeremy has been in the Air Force for one year today. I love him so much and I'm so very proud of him.
We've had our ups and downs this last year but it's been all around a great year.

Some things I love about being an AF wife:
I got to enjoy the summer in Mississippi while he was there for tech school.
I have made so many AF wife friends from all over the world.
It's not far from home but we moved to Northern California.
Made some best friends here at Travis AFB that I'll never forget.
I'm closer to my sister Kristy and her family, so I get to see my awesome niece and nephews more often! :)

I knew this military life wouldn't be easy but I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm so happy with where we are today and I'm so grateful for this life God has given me.
I want to thank all my wonderful AF wife friends who have been with me through all the ups and downs of this past year. I'm so thankful for each and every one of you! And I love you!

Happy 1 year in the AF baby! I love you! :)

My first time hosting a party...

I'm so excited! Tomorrow I'm hosting a New Years Party! My very first one. I've invited a bunch of military wives and there husbands over to play some games, hang out and just have a good time. I'm a little nervous since this is my first time, I just want to make sure I keep everyone entertained! lol
We'll probably play some wii, oooo I never mentioned that we got a WII for Christmas from my parents! I love it, so much fun! Then when we got home we bought a wii fit plus, even better! =] It's so addicting and fun but also a great work out! If you don't have one I highly recommend it!
So, let me tell you about my Christmas! Jeremy had 6 days off of work so we drove down to Southern CA to visit our families. We spent Christmas eve day with my grandparents and that night we went to Jeremy's parents, it was a lot of fun. We got Jeremy's little brother a Nerf gun, he loved it! And we got our niece Melanie two barbies. Then Christmas day we spent with my parents, brother and his girlfriend/my best friend Kelly. We got my mom and dad a digital picture frame, they really liked it. :-)
Saturday Jeremy went shooting with his dad, uncle and grandpa so I had a girls day and got my toes done with my mom and Kelly..ahhh it was so nice! Much needed! :-)
I totally feel like I'm writing in a diary right now. Haha!
Anyway, Sunday we went to my parents church and then to the movies to see Avatar (weird movie but really good) and then headed home on our 6 hour drive. Jeremy had Monday off so we took down Christmas decorations, played some wii and relaxed. We had a great 6 days!
Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas as well!

Visit to my sisters

Today we drove an hour up to Rocklin to visit my sister and family. We haven't been up that way in about a month so it was nice to see them again. I really missed my niece and nephews. We spent the day there and went to Origin which is a church my brother in-law started there.
Here are a few pictures from our day.

We bought the two older kids Coco-nutty monkey play doh for Christmas.
Photobucket
Kian liked it too.
Photobucket
Brody and Kian wrestling on the floor.
Photobucket
Brody was giving Kian a back massage. Lol
Photobucket
Kian liked wearing uncle Jeremy's shoes. Look at that cute little smile!

It was a lot of fun! Can't wait to go down to Southern CA on Tuesday night to see my parents, Jeremy's parents, sister and niece and little brother. =]

So sad....

I haven't written on here in almost 3 months...so sad. I really want to start blogging more but I have a hard time with words. Lol.

So, let me update everyone...
Jeremy graduated tech school on October 1st, then we left Mississippi and headed to Arizona where we stayed with my sister for a week, then we continued on our journey to Southern CA where we visited our parents for a week. We then headed to our first base, Travis AFB in Northern CA.

We stayed in TLF (temporary living facility) for ten days and then moved in to our apartment. We've been here for about 2 months now and love it! It's so nice to have all of our furniture and things back, and our cat. We really missed Oreo since he's been living with Jeremy's family for the past year.

A few weeks ago I joined the TESC (Travis Enlisted Spouse Club). It's a great way to get involved on base, volunteer and meet new girl friends. I've met so many since I've been here it's been so awesome, since I'm currently not working it's been really nice having friends to hang out with while Jeremy is at work.

2 weeks ago was the TESC Jingle Mingle, it was a lot of fun and the first time I met all of those girls. A lot of the other friends I've met here have been on Facebook.
Also one of my good friends is Kelsey, her husband works with Jeremy. It's nice knowing another wife who's husband works with him so we can talk about there job a little easier...even though most of it we don't understand. Lol

Photobucket

Anyway that's a pretty quick update on us!
Jeremy has six days off for Christmas so we will be heading down to So Cal. I haven't seen my parents in two months so it will be nice to spend sometime with them again. =]
I can't believe it's almost Christmas already!! This year has just flown by with Jeremy joining the AF and all the moving around we've been doing...it's been very eventful to say the least.

Only 5 more days...

Well we are down to just a little over 5 days left until we leave Mississippi! Everything is packed up and ready to go. I can't wait to get out of here, I will miss my friends but definitely not this state. I can definitely tell you I am a West Coast girl! I'm so happy to be going home. =]

Also Jeremy is now officially an Airman 1st class!! He sewed on his two stripes today and we get a small raise! I am so proud of him, I never in a million years thought he would be in the United States Air Force but I'm so glad he decided to join. I know it will be a hard life but he's doing this for us.

Tonight we are going out with some friends to enjoy our last weekend here. We're going to The Shed for dinner and laser bowling afterward. I'm going to take pictures tomorrow and hopefully post them tomorrow.

What's goin on...

Well my 21st Birthday was on Monday! Woo hoo! I had a great day with Jeremy, we went to lunch at Applebees. I had my first alcoholic drink..a strawberry daiquiri..yum! I'm so glad he got to spend the day with me since it was Labor Day and he had the day off. =]
I talked to the housing office at Travis AFB and they said the wait for a house is 6 months to a year. So, I'm a little bummed about that but I'm going to stay positive and were going to find a great place off base for the time being and then eventually live on base. I'm really excited to get back to the west coast, I never thought I would miss it so much until I was all the way over here in the South. I'm so thankful that we got Travis AFB, California. I'm so excited that I'll be able to watch my niece and nephews grow up. Even if we only get to stay there for a few years, it's better than none!
Well I don't have much to write because life is pretty boring right now. I'm ready to get to our base and settle down again as soon as that happens I should have more to write.

Leave some love!! ;)
